Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the current school year at an elementary school located in Middletown, NY. This onsite contract role focuses on providing specialized instructional support to elementary students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies to optimize educational outcomes
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment to enhance student engagement and growth
- Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with state and district regulations
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Special Education Teaching License is required
- Experience teaching in an elementary special education setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional methods, and classroom management
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, families, and support staff
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
