The Behavior Management Coordinator plays a key leadership role in supporting the consistent, trauma-informed implementation of behavior support strategies across the Residential Treatment Center. This position is responsible for developing, reviewing, and monitoring individual behavior plans, coaching staff in de-escalation techniques, and using data to inform interventions and promote youth safety and engagement. The coordinator works collaboratively with clinical, residential, casework and education teams and youth’s families to ensure alignment with OCFS regulations and Little Flower values, emphasizing youth voice, family engagement, and positive behavioral change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee individualized Behavior Support Plans in coordination with the youth’s treatment team.
- Conduct assessments to determine youth’s strengths and needs.
- Analyze behavior trends, incident reports, and other data sources to identify patterns and recommend proactive strategies. Prepare reports with behavioral health metrics to be used for individual and program measurements.
- Provide real-time coaching, modeling, and feedback to staff to strengthen implementation of behavior interventions and trauma-informed practices.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, behavioral assessments, and youth planning conferences.
- Collaborate with treatment team, school staff, family members, and all relevant stakeholders to ensure consistent follow-through and behavioral expectations across campus, school, and home settings.
- Provide staff training on implementing and monitoring behavior management techniques specific to youth’s behavioral and developmental needs.
- Ensure documentation of behavior plans, incidents, and interventions are timely, thorough, and meet agency and regulatory standards.
- Upload Behavior Support Plans and other documentation into the agency’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) for auditing and survey readiness.
- Support the completion of documentation to support application for OPWDD or other community resources.
- Promote youth dignity, empowerment, and skill-building through relational and strengths-based approaches.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, behavioral health, or related field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in behavioral health or residential care, including experience in behavioral planning, development, and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, youth development, and behavioral intervention strategies and techniques.
- Excellent oral and written communication, documentation, and coaching skills.
