(Seneca Falls & Union Springs, NY)

???? $17.00–$18.00/hr during training (dependent on experience)
➡️ Opportunity to advance to Assistant Manager at $19.00–$20.00/hr upon successful program completion

LakeSide Trading is seeking a motivated, people-focused Assistant Manager Trainee to join our high-volume convenience store locations in Seneca Falls and Union Springs. This developmental role is ideal for individuals with retail and cash-handling experience who are ready to grow into a leadership position through structured training, mentorship, and hands-on operational experience.

Trainees who successfully complete the program and meet all Assistant Manager qualifications at the time of completion may be offered promotion to the Assistant Manager role, based on performance, readiness, and business needs.

What This Role Is

The Assistant Manager Trainee program prepares you to:

  • Build leadership and supervisory skills

  • Learn store operations, cash controls, and customer service standards

  • Gain confidence managing people, inventory, and daily workflows

  • Demonstrate readiness for advancement through performance and accountability

Advancement is earned and dependent on meeting expectations and qualifications at the conclusion of the training program.

What You’ll Learn & Do

  • Support Store Management with daily store operations

  • Train alongside experienced leaders across all shifts

  • Learn cash handling, deposits, and register accountability

  • Assist with scheduling, inventory control, and vendor coordination

  • Maintain safety, compliance, and customer service standards

  • Take on increasing responsibility as skills are demonstrated

  • Lead by example with a hands-on, team-oriented approach

Required Qualifications

  • Previous retail experience

  • Cash handling and register accountability experience

  • Ability to multitask and stay accurate in a fast-paced environment

  • Friendly, professional customer service skills

  • Open availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
    (Stores operate 7 days a week, 6am–10pm)

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean background

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Prior management or supervisory experience

Advancement to Assistant Manager

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees may be offered promotion to Assistant Manager provided they:

  • Meet all Assistant Manager qualifications at the time of completion

  • Demonstrate leadership capability, reliability, and strong performance

  • Successfully complete training milestones

  • Are approved based on business needs and role availability

Promotion includes a pay increase to $19.00–$20.00/hr, based on experience and performance.
