Position: Project Engineer (Civil Engineering)
Location: Larchmont, NY
Certification Required: Engineer-in-Training (EIT)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop project scopes for industrial, commercial, multi-use, and large-scale residential developments

• Manage project schedules and ensure deadlines are met

• Coordinate technical design work with design teams and clients

• Assign, oversee, and review technical tasks

• Attend meetings with review/regulatory agencies

• Represent projects at Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, and other land use commission meetings

• Prepare and review design criteria, technical drawings, and specifications

• Create schematic design, design development, and construction contract documentation

• Perform site design tasks including:

  • Layout

  • Grading

  • Utility design

  • Capacity analysis

  • Stormwater management design (SWPPP)

• Prepare and review technical calculations

• Develop construction cost estimates

• Provide RFI support and conduct construction observations during the construction phase

• Author technical reports

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required

• Experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D

• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software

• Experience presenting projects in public forums

• Strong ability to communicate and coordinate technical details with consultants and reviewers

• Understanding of NYS SEQR process

• Familiarity with federal, state, and local land use and environmental regulations

• Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and deadlines

• Professional, appropriate, and positive interpersonal skills with both coworkers and clients

• Willingness to work in the field when necessary

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

• High attention to detail, critical thinking, and self-motivation

• Receptive to input and collaboration with team members
