Job Description

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Head of Dry Market Merchandising and Operations to join our team. As the Head of Dry Market Merchandising and Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing and defining various aspects of the Grocery, Home & Kitchen, and Front End departments. This includes KPI tracking, strategic planning, goal setting, layout changes, new store openings, and more. This position will report directly to the Director of Merchandising & Retail Operations to ensure that all stores are running efficiently and meeting their objectives.

  • Develop, enforce, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for retail and front end operations such as product & cash handling, receiving, purchasing etc.
  • Leads the ongoing development of Eataly’s store layout standardization to maximize revenue and efficiency
  • Manages product layout and placement to optimize sales for Dry Market products
  • Monitors sales for all Eataly North America locations and develops strategies to ensure results are met (KPIs, reporting development, call set up)
  • Lead the set up and training of Dry Market departments during new store openings
  • Influences and guides Dry Market operations by developing a strong relationship with leadership in North America stores
  • Standardize the Guest Relations and Check Out experience for Eataly North America to optimize customer flow and satisfaction
  • Collaborates with counterparts on Fresh Operations, both at Corporate and Store level, to maximize cross-merchandising and promotional opportunities
  • Analyzes category trends and competitive concerns; including competitor’s pricing, assortment and consumer trends
  • Supports and positively influences Grocery and Home & Kitchen financial goals, product mix, business relationships and innovation needs
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field preferred

  • 4 + years of retail food management experience
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Outstanding analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with experience using data to influence business decisions
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, motivation, and team-building skills
  • Italian product knowledge preferred

The base pay range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 per year
