Job DescriptionJob Title: Process Operator 2nd or 3rd ShiftJob Description

The Process Operator will be scheduled to work in various areas of Processes/Operations based on their training and qualifications. The role involves setting up and operating processing and fabrication equipment for insulation materials, inspecting and testing products, handling materials, and ensuring proper waste management.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate processing and fabrication equipment on a variety of insulation materials.
  • Inspect and test in-process insulating products to determine suitability for use and shipment to customers.
  • Operate material handling and storage equipment, hand tools, and testing equipment.
  • Operate the waste storage facility and provide direction for proper waste segregation, labeling, and containerization.
  • Perform duties related to non-hazardous and hazardous waste control, including classification, storage, and disposal of waste materials.
  • Control inventory of raw, semi-finished, and finished materials.
  • Unload and store materials in proper locations, maintaining stock records.
  • Work from schedules, batch cards, and process instructions to set up equipment such as drums, pumps, and rolls.
  • Set up machines by adjusting gaps, speeds, and temperatures, and positioning materials.
  • Start equipment and monitor operations, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality.
  • Supply materials by weighing, mixing, and threading machines, and operating equipment using valves, buttons, and levers.
  • Unload equipment manually or with a hoist, dispose of materials appropriately, and record data.

Essential Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute process, safety, and operating instructions.
  • Proficiency in basic math functions for batch card information.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Excel and MS Word.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Need to obtain and maintain certifications in hazardous waste handling and opacity reading.
  • Forklift training will be provided.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Schenectady, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.59 - $24.59/hr.
