Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Defense Attorney with at least 3 years of litigation experience to join the firm's thriving Personal Injury Defense department. While defense experience is preferred, attorneys with strong plaintiff-side trial experience will also be considered.
This role offers the opportunity to handle all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial, including jury selection, direct and cross-examination of witnesses (especially medical professionals), and the effective presentation of defense experts.
Key Responsibilities

Independently manage a caseload of personal injury and insurance defense matters.

Conduct trials in New York state and federal courts.

Draft and argue motions, pleadings, discovery, and other litigation documents with clarity and precision.

Take and defend depositions, including of medical providers, liability experts, and other key witnesses.

Cross-examine treating physicians and present expert testimony on behalf of the defense.

Collaborate closely with clients to develop case strategy and provide timely litigation updates.

Stay current with New York case law and legislative changes impacting insurance defense and personal injury litigation.
Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of litigation experience, ideally in personal injury defense; plaintiff-side trial attorneys with relevant courtroom experience will also be considered.

Proven trial experience, including jury selection and courtroom advocacy.

Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills; proficiency with Westlaw or similar platforms.

Excellent oral advocacy, interpersonal communication, and negotiation skills.

Ability to handle multiple complex cases in a fast-paced litigation environment.

Admission to the New York State Bar required.
Work Arrangement

Full-time, with an initial in-office schedule Monday-Friday during a probationary period.

Hybrid schedule (up to 2 remote days/week) available upon successful completion of the probationary period.
