First Connect Health is seeking a travel Pathology Assistant for a travel job in White Plains, New York.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens under pathologist supervision
• Prepare frozen and permanent sections for light microscopy
• Ensure accurate specimen accessioning, labeling, and LIS documentation
• Assist with frozen sections, staining, cover slipping, and decalcification
• Troubleshoot and update Voice Recognition templates
• Maintain gross room supplies and assist with inventory
• Support post-mortem examinations as needed
• Maintain communication with pathology and histology teams
• Demonstrate safe use of grossing equipment (handsaw, cryostat, grossing table)

Requirements

• New York State License – Required
• BLS (AHA) – Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related science
• Completion of a Pathologists’ Assistant Program preferred
• ASCP certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year experience (2+ years preferred)
