Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanic Shop Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing routine maintenance on a variety of vehicles. Youll work closely with other technicians and service advisors to ensure all repairs are completed efficiently and to the highest standard of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles including brakes, engines, transmissions, suspension, heating/AC, electrical systems, etc.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, and tune-ups.
- Accurately document all work performed, including parts used and time spent.
- Communicate effectively with team members and service advisors regarding vehicle status and repair needs.
- Use diagnostic tools and service manuals to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Keep work area clean and organized; follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Maintain certifications and stay up to date with industry standards and training.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training a plus.
- 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician preferred.
- ASE certification(s) a plus, or willingness to obtain.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repair techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Must have own tools or willingness to acquire them.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Standing for long periods; bending, crouching, and working in tight spaces.
- Use of hand tools and power equipment.
