A registered nurse with critical care experience is needed for an intermediate care unit (IMCU) supporting adult patients with neurological, cardiac, and trauma-related diagnoses. This contract position in Utica, NY requires a flexible and skilled professional capable of floating between units and managing complex patient needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing direct patient care to IMCU and PCU patients with diagnoses such as COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, and post-operative conditions
- Managing specialty equipment including temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, bipap machines, and working with chronic ventilator-dependent patients alongside respiratory therapy
- Documenting patient care accurately using Electronic Medical Records (EPIC)
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in New York state with NURSYS verification
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in IMCU/PCU settings
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from AHA
- Demonstrated travel nursing experience and ability to comply with submission requirements
- Valid drivers license matching demographic data
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system preferred
Schedule:
- 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM shifts with floating responsibilities; block scheduling is not guaranteed
