ECVC Counsel @ Chambers-Recognized Platform
Job Description
As a counsel-level attorney, you’ll guide emerging companies and venture investors through high-stakes financings and complex corporate milestones—while mentoring junior associates and shaping one of the industry’s most respected ECVC platforms.
This is a rare opportunity to join a nationally recognized venture practice at the leadership level. You'll take ownership of client relationships, quarterback transactions, and contribute to the growth of a practice known for long-standing founder and fund ties across the tech, consumer, and life sciences sectors.
Why This Role Catalyzes Your Growth
Market-Moving Clients, Founder-Facing Work:
Advise companies and VCs from formation through exit—including seed, Series A–C financings, M&A deals, and secondary transactions. Counsel clients ranging from breakout tech founders to elite institutional investors.
Leadership Within a Growing Platform:
Step into a counsel role designed for leadership and leverage. You’ll manage deals, supervise juniors, and serve as a go-to advisor on matters of structure, scale, and growth strategy.
Track Record of In-House and Partner Exits:
Alumni have gone on to GC roles at startups and growth-stage ventures—and partnership within the firm is attainable without traditional political gatekeeping.
Cross-Office Flexibility, National Presence:
Join a platform with leading ECVC hubs in NYC, Palo Alto, DC, and New Jersey. Enjoy the support of a full-service firm with a top-down commitment to the emerging companies space.

- Business-minded approach and ability to run with founder and investor relationships
- Admitted in at least one relevant U.S. jurisdiction (NY, CA, DC, or NJ preferred)

- Base Salary Range: $420,000 – $435,000 (for class years 2017–2018)
- Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and more

About Whistler Partners
Matchmakers, Not Headhunters
Whistler Partners is a boutique matchmaking firm focused on counseling the best and the brightest attorneys over the course of their careers. We believe that the right move comes from working closely with talent to curate their long-term career paths. When it comes to career advice, what matters is not the size of the agency but the strength of your individual recruiter.
We readily admit that we are elite and only work with the best – after all, a little elitism is okay when it comes to your career. Employers love us because we are picky about whom we represent, and attorneys love us because we get them their dream jobs.
