Compensation

  • Lead Installer: $62.50/hour
  • Assistant Installer: $40–$45/hour (based on experience)
    ✅ All shifts are paid with a 4-hour minimum — even if the job takes less time.

About the Role

Go Local Promotions, Inc. — a leading experiential marketing and visual installations agency in the travel retail sector — is hiring Retail Visual Installers (Lead and Assistant levels) for part-time, on-call work based primarily at JFK Airport. However, this role may also include supporting local market events and brand activations in other parts of NYC and surrounding areas, depending on project needs.

This is a flexible, hands-on opportunity to support monthly visual branding updates, retail redressing, and promotional installations inside duty-free stores, as well as additional activations in luxury retail, pop-ups, and experiential events outside the airport.

This is a W-2 employee position, not freelance/1099.

We’re looking for reliable professionals with open availability who can respond quickly to short-turnaround requests. Many of our assignments involve overnight or early-morning installations, often on short notice when retail environments need urgent fixes or last-minute brand updates. Flexibility and dependability are key to success in this role.

Position Levels

Lead Retail Visual Installer

  • Oversees site execution and supports logistics and planning
  • Experienced in vinyl application, fixture wrapping, and brand display setup
  • Interfaces professionally with store and airport personnel
  • Ideally holds OSHA and/or electrical certifications

Assistant Retail Visual Installer

  • Supports install tasks under lead direction
  • Entry-to-mid-level install or event experience
  • Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and open to learning
  • Will be trained and may complete OSHA certification after onboarding

Key Responsibilities

  • Install advertising materials, branded graphics, and vinyl wraps on walls, gondolas, lightboxes, windows, and fixtures
  • Redress duty-free store fixtures monthly based on updated brand programs
  • Assemble or deliver branded furniture and visual elements
  • Inspect and open incoming crates; take detailed photos and log all received assets
  • Access company warehouse to pick up/drop off assets and maintain organized inventory
  • Prepare printouts and install-day checklists; assist in event execution planning
  • Coordinate closely with the administrative production team for logistics, tracking, and updates
  • May be required to run errands or transport materials using a company or personal vehicle
  • Some roles may involve training to drive on the JFK tarmac/airfield for load-ins/load-outs
  • Support additional retail activations and branded events in the NYC metro area as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

Required:

  • Hands-on experience with tools, vinyl installation, and brand display work
  • Ability to follow visual guides and execute clean, professional installs
  • Flexibility and open availability — must be able to respond to same-day or next-day installation requests, often scheduled late at night or early in the morning
  • Strong communication and ability to represent Go Local and our brand clients professionally with duty-free staff and airport personnel
  • Punctual, organized, and polished presentation on-site
  • U.S. work authorization (W-2 status only)
  • Must pass TSA background check and complete required airport security training
  • Available for overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays

Preferred (Not Required):

For Lead Installers:

  • OSHA 10/30 certification or willingness to complete it
  • Familiarity with basic electrical tasks (e.g., LED lighting, signage power setup)
  • Experience documenting and reporting install progress or completion

For Assistant Installers:

  • Prior experience with visual displays or retail events
  • Willingness to complete OSHA certification post-onboarding
  • Attention to detail and desire to grow within the company
