You’ll shape workflows, mentor junior staff, and partner closely with attorneys and administrative leadership to ensure best-in-class support across high-stakes matters. Responsibilities for Senior Case/Paralegal Manager:
- Oversee day-to-day paralegal workflows, ensuring high-quality support across complex litigation matters.
- Manage, mentor, and develop paralegal staff through training, feedback, and regular one-on-one check-ins.
- Coordinate with attorneys, vendors, and case teams on deadlines, trial logistics, document production, and court procedures.
- Maintain an active caseload while meeting billable hour expectations and ensuring team-wide compliance with federal and state court rules.
- Assist with matter staffing, workload distribution, and recommendations to improve departmental processes and efficiencies.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, performance evaluations, and resolution of employee relations issues in partnership with HR.
Qualifications for Senior Case/Paralegal Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree required; ABA-approved paralegal certificate strongly preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of litigation paralegal experience, including significant trial and deposition work
- Minimum 2 years leadership or supervisory experience within a law firm setting.
- Strong proficiency with litigation tools (Relativity, Lexis/Westlaw, PACER, SharePoint) and federal/NY state e-filing systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to lead by example.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines, maintain professionalism under pressure, and support the development of junior talent.
