Job Purpose: The Shop Foreman will manage and fabricate orders correctly and on-time through ISO standards by leading and developing a high performing, efficient team while maintaining an organized and safe rigging shop and warehouse. The shop foreman is a “hands-on” working foreman performing all production, inspection and testing duties while managing the team and production schedule for timely and accurate completion of all orders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and oversee multiple areas of operation and production including synthetics, wire rope, and fabrication shop
- Coordinate with management to establish production schedules to ensure projects meet required due dates
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by having a positive attitude and communicating in an effective and courteous manner with customers, coworkers, clients, employees and supervisors
- Managing of people and personnel issues
- Coordinate paperwork flow starting at purchasing through shipping and all steps in-between
- Coordination and follow through for corrective actions pertaining, but not limited to:
- Manufacturing production levels
- Safety
- Shop organization
- Coordination with project managers on a daily basis as to work load that needs to get done and supervising that manufacturing is on schedule and staying on task
- Once tasks are laid out by project managers, making sure that all tools, material and information is had to accomplish plan
- Ensure finished products meet recognized standards and customer expectations by maintaining quality procedures and ensuring finished project is complete and has all of its parts including but not limited to:
- Signs
- Painting
- Labeling
- Pieces and parts
- Addition hardware or rigging that might go with package
- Packaging
- Perform other functions as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years’ experience in supervisory capacity
- Experience in welding/fabrication field helpful
- Excellent project management skills
- Good at maintaining organization and paperwork
- Ability to multitask and keep track of different jobs/projects
- Mechanical aptitude
- Reading / writing skills
- Good analytical, conceptual and planning skills
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Math aptitude up to adding and subtracting fractions and basic multiplication
- Ability to lift 30+ lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must work in a safe manner following safety procedures
- Ability to stand and work in various positions
