Job Description
The Clinical Medical Assistant plays a vital role in providing care and education to patients, adhering to established standards and practices. This position involves updating patient charts within electronic medical records (EMR) systems, documenting changes, and coordinating with other care team members to ensure seamless care delivery. The assistant actively participates in patient planning and care coordination while ensuring rooms are restocked.
Responsibilities
- Provide care and education to patients following established standards and practices.
- Update patient charts in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and document changes.
- Coordinate with other care team members for seamless care delivery and maximal coordination of efforts.
- Ensure active patient participation in planning and care.
- Restock examination rooms as needed.
Essential Skills
- Medical assisting skills
- Customer service skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with medical records and electronic medical records (EMR)
- Proficiency with NextGen, Epic, and patient access systems
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting, or graduation from an accredited medical assistant program
- Stable employment history and favorable references
Work Environment
The position offers specialties in OBGYN, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, and Dermatology. Work shifts are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Employees are required to wear scrubs as part of the dress code. The role is based in various locations, including Mt. Kisco, with shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The environment promotes career growth, with opportunities to transfer within over 40 different specialties. Long-term employees have tenure of 10+ and 20+ years, with tuition reimbursement and good benefits available upon permanent employment. There are no holiday or vacation days, but sick time is provided.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.
