General Responsibilities

• Construct, erect installs, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard
• Use carpenter’s hand tools and power tools
• Conform to local building codes and regulations
• Build props and sets, framing, hanging windows and doors, decorations, locks, floor work, cutting material, shaping material, stripping and treating material, preparation of work surfaces, and other tasks expected of the trade

Basic Qualifications:

• You must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this role
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings to extract information such as material requirements and structure dimensions
• Strong ability to perform layout preparation using measurement tools with the ability to accurately mark materials for cutting and assembly
• Fastening materials accurately with nails, dowel pins, screws, bolts, or glue
• Assemble of framework for structures including the laying of subflooring, building stairs, and laying out and installing partitions and cabinet work.
• Fitting and installation of window frames, doors, door framing, weather stripping, trim and finish hardware (locks, kick plates, etc…)
• Erection of scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
• Proven understanding of the design and fabrication of props and other show-support items within budget and time constraints
• Proven understanding of 3-D design methods
• Design of specialty windows and other show props/sets to build themed show items
• Vital understanding of the safety components of all tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Journeyman Level Carpenter with demonstrable experience of 5 years or more
• Previous Painting experience

Key Responsibilities

• Complete concrete work
• Construct the formwork for placement of concrete, assembles column or wall formwork (Gang forms, Stick Build, Slip Forms, etc.)
• Set anchor bolts templates
• Erect temporary handrails and associated safety related items
• Sawing, stripping, nailing, burning, measuring, tightening/loosening bolts and drilling

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
• Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization

Repairs and maintains a variety of items including furniture, doors, travertine, and chairs. Creates and assembles wooden parts to form complete units, using woodworking hand and power tools. Reads blueprints, drawings or written instructions to determine method and sequence of assembling parts. Measures, shapes, adjusts, trims and sands parts and joints to ensure they fit snugly, using rules, hand tools and sandpaper.

Major Job Responsibilities:

• Performs advanced maintenance, including refinishing worn or damaged furniture, matching color wood stains, and applying clear coats
• Repairs door closers, re-hangs doors, repairs and maintains WON doors and barricades
• Tests and adjusts door closers for ADA compliance
• Installs ceiling tiles
• Patches and repairs travertine surfaces, adjusts and levels travertine drain covers
• Performs advanced installation and construction activities, including casework, building bookcases, installing computer key board trays, mounting pictures and bulletin boards in office areas
• Keeps track of VOC content of materials used

Qualifications:

• High School/ GED
• California drivers license with less than three DMV points
• 4 to 5 years experience in finish carpentry

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Skilled with the use of table saws, sanders, and other wood shop tools
• Skilled with handheld tools such as: drills, sanders, planners, and chisels
• Skilled at applying water based stains, varnishes, lacquers and veneers
• Ability to repair or restore wood finishes
• Ability to test doors for proper opening pressures
• Ability to operate computer programs for document door opening pressures
• Familiarity with computerized recording of time and materials
• Ability to read and interpret low voltage wiring diagrams for automatic door closers and road barricades
• Knowledge of techniques for patching and repairing of travertine or other floor surfaces

This is a Carpenter position, with steady inside work. Requires 3+ or more years documented experience in general construction, emphasis on mudding, taping, patchwork, sanding, and painting with clean driving record and Driver's License. We have been General Contractors for 70 years and have 10 US offices. If you have consistent work history with steady advancement, general construction trades knowledge and can travel in the region overnight on occasion, let's schedule an interview. We prefer you to be able to work independently on an occupied construction site. Must be both reliable and dependable. Skills required as follows:

• Commercial remodel experience required. OSHA 10 will be required.
• Basic framing, barricades, scaffolding, carpentry knowledge, experience and hand tools required.
• Painting, patching, mudding, taping, patchwork--with some finish work--Level 3-4 minimum
• Drywall framing, metal studs
• Install without blueprints--have fire-rating knowledge--can order materials--schedule crew--work with Superintendents to keep jobs on track--work with our subcontractors
• Metal Door and hardware, window demolition and installation
• Basic knowledge of structural steel and basic welding techniques
• Must be able to pass both a drug screening and E-Verify for I-9 ID documents
• Must have clean driving record, carry insurance, have reliable transportation and valid US driver's license with no recent tickets, minimum HS degree
• Able to travel overnight up to 25% plus of the time (Company will cover all of overnight travel expenses including hotel and meal expense with temporary wage bump on site)
• Good communication and trustworthy is critical.
• Some local access to Company trucks--but own reliable vehicle is required
• Must be able to work on ladders, carry up to 50 lbs, walk long distances, climb flights of stairs, kneel or stand for long periods of time, and work off of scaffolding.
