Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our behavioral health team. This role offers a hybrid work opportunity, allowing for a combination of on-site and remote responsibilities. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality mental health care.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans based on clinical evaluation.
Diagnose and manage psychiatric conditions in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and clinical protocols.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, nursing staff, counselors, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care.
Prescribe medications in alignment with current treatment guidelines and provide education on medication use, benefits, and potential side effects.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory work, and explain results to patients.
Provide mental health education, emotional support, and counseling to patients and families.
Refer patients for higher levels of care (e.g., inpatient services) when clinically appropriate.
Maintain ongoing patient follow-up and monitor treatment progress.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health from an accredited institution.
Active and unrestricted license as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in the state of New York.
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant clinical experience.
Ability to work a minimum of 25 hours per week.
