Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with day shifts, requiring a NY RN license and Epic experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Work in the MS/Tele unit in a hospital setting
- Care for adult patients with diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule out
- Patient ratios are 1:6 on days, 1:7 on nights, and 1:8 on weekends
- Day shift schedule is 7:30am to 7:30pm, working three 12-hour shifts per week
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend
- Requires use of Epic EMR
- Responsible for managing complex medical and telemetry patients and responding to rapid response and code situations
- Works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to manage patient care plans
- Proficiency in isolation precautions and respiratory interventions is expected
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
\n \n Requirements\n
- Active NY RN license required at the time of application
- Minimum of 1 year current Med/Surg Tele nursing experience
- Current BLS certification required
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Must be skilled in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias, rapid response/code teams, peripheral line care, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility
