Operations Job Floor Technician

What we are looking for:

The primary role of the In-house Technician is to prepare commercial laundry equipment for shipment and ensure returned machines are restored to shippable condition. Responsibilities include programming, customizing, modifying, and updating new equipment, as well as evaluating, identifying required parts, ordering, and repairing used or damaged machines.

Back to the role:

What you will do:

  • Production scheduling & workflow – Coordinate machine orders and sequence jobs to meet the outbound shipping schedule.
  • Testing & troubleshooting – Test, diagnose, and resolve electrical, mechanical, and software issues on commercial laundry equipment.
  • Repair & refurbishment – Inspect returned, damaged, or used machines, order required parts, and restore units to sale-ready condition.
  • ERP planning & tracking – Plan, release, and update work orders in Epicor Workbench, accurately recording labor, parts, and status.
  • Cross-functional support – Assist warehouse and building operations during peak periods to maintain overall throughput.
  • Technical expertise & collaboration – Serve as the on-site subject-matter expert, partnering with vendors, Engineering, and Technical Care to resolve issues.
  • Process compliance & improvement – Follow standard operating procedures and suggest enhancements to boost efficiency and quality.
  • Continuous learning – Stay current on product updates, system changes, and technical documentation.
  • Issue escalation – Quickly escalate inconclusive or critical repair problems to Engineering for advanced analysis.
  • WIP & inspection control – Monitor work-in-process and inspection queues to keep machines moving within target lead times.
  • Safety & housekeeping – Maintain a clean, organized, hazard-free work area and enforce safe operating practices.

What you should have:

  • Teamwork – Must be a proactive, dependable team player who willingly steps in wherever needed or directed.
  • Education – Technical diploma or associate degree in electronics or related field
  • Experience – Minimum of 3 years in a hands-on technical role. Dealing with machines and electronics is ideal.
  • Problem-solving – Demonstrated ability to isolate faults, eliminate possibilities, and implement effective fixes.
  • Communication – Exceptional verbal and written skills for clear reporting and collaboration
  • Organization – Detail-oriented, able to multi-task and manage time efficiently in a fast-moving environment.
  • Attitude – Positive, service-minded outlook that supports a culture of continuous improvement.

Education and Experience:

  • Technical diploma or associate degree in electronics or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years in a hands-on technical role.
  • Previous experience working with machines and electronics is ideal.

Salary:

$25.00 per hour
