We're seeking a Program Director to join the Schenectady, NY team for the upcoming 2025–2026 academic year! In this role, you'll oversee a specialized educational program serving high-risk and special needs students in a supportive, small-group setting. Responsibilities:
- Direct daily program operations for a K–12 student population
- Manage student success through proactive engagement and individualized support
- Oversee student behavior with a focus on de-escalation and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI)
- Coordinate staff scheduling and involvement across grade levels
- Manage student activities, transitions, and needs throughout the school day
- Maintain consistent communication with families and caregivers
- Support a positive, structured learning environment for students and staff
Requirements:
- Administrative or leadership experience in an educational setting
- Background working with high-risk and/or special needs children (primary and secondary levels)
- Skilled in TCI and de-escalation techniques
- Strong rapport-building skills with both students and staff
- Organized, adaptable, and able to make quick, thoughtful decisions
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
