Unit: Labor & Delivery / Post-Partum
Assignment Type: Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (3 shifts/week, 12 hours per shift)
Compensation:

Gross Weekly Pay: $2,637/week
Position Summary
A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support its Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum units on a contract basis. This role provides specialized nursing care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise in obstetrics, the flexibility to float between Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum units, and experience working with electronic medical records in high-acuity settings.
Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases

Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond promptly to changes in patient condition

Assist physicians and midwives during deliveries and obstetric procedures

Provide education and support to patients and families regarding labor, delivery, and postpartum care

Float between Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum units as needed

Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes using electronic medical record systems

Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications

Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience (required)

Experience floating to Post-Partum units (required)

Proficiency with EPIC documentation systems
Certifications
-
Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)

Additional obstetric or specialty certifications preferred but not required
