Job Description

GED Preparation + Paid Internship– $18/Hour

Join Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow (OBT) and be part of our Paid Internship Program! From September to December, earn your GED while gaining valuable paid work experience. You’ll receive a paid stipend while completing your GED classes and training, and if you place at a GED-ready level, you’ll qualify for a 250-hour paid internship at $18/hour.

Where You Could Work:

Hospitals and clinics
Law firms
Construction companies
Small businesses and nonprofits

What You’ll Do:

Attend GED prep classes in partnership with the NYC Department of Education
Participate in a paid professional internship
Learn workplace skills for your chosen field

What You’ll Get:

Paid stipend during GED preparation and training
$18/hour for 250 internship hours once eligible
Job coaching, case management, and supportive services to help you succeed
College application and access support if you choose to pursue further education
Job placement support after completion

Eligibility:

Ages 18–24
Must be available Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
Must be available for the full program from September 2, 2025 – January 16, 2025
