Our client, a leading maritime transit company, is seeking a highly skilled In-House Corporate Attorney with 5–6 years of experience, ideally within the maritime, marine transport, or energy sectors. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence three days per week, offering a unique opportunity to work closely with executive leadership and contribute to strategic legal initiatives.
Location: Onsite Hybrid – 3 Days in Office (New York, NY)
Duration: 3–4+ Months Contract
Pay: $75+ per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise executive leadership on legal matters affecting maritime and energy operations.
- Draft, negotiate, and review complex commercial agreements to mitigate legal risks.
- Manage litigation and conduct internal investigations.
- Develop and implement compliance policies aligned with industry regulations.
- Oversee and coordinate with external counsel for litigation and regulatory matters.
- Monitor and interpret maritime and energy regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Provide guidance on corporate governance, ethics, and compliance.
- Review contracts and corporate documents for legal and financial integrity.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of 5-6 years of legal experience specializing in maritime, marine transport, or energy sectors.
• Active bar certification in the state of operation.
• Proven ability to manage litigation and negotiate complex transactions.
• Strong organizational and communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external parties.
• Comprehensive knowledge of maritime laws, energy regulations, and corporate legal practices.
• Expertise in drafting, reviewing, and editing complex legal documents with attention to detail.
