SUMMARY

Foodlink is seeking a Food Retail Manager to lead our Curbside Market, a mobile grocery program that brings affordable, high-quality food directly to communities. This role is ideal for an experienced food retail professional who knows how to run a store, lead a team, and balance strong operations with a mission-driven purpose.

The Food Retail Manager oversees daily operations across multiple mobile market locations, ensuring excellent customer service, efficient staffing, strong inventory control, and smooth point-of-sale operations. This position blends hands-on retail management with community-centered values.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage daily operations for multiple mobile market locations
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, training, and performance coaching
  • Manage inventory, purchasing, merchandising, pricing, and product rotation
  • Ensure accurate POS operations, cash handling, and benefit processing (SNAP/EBT, WIC, incentives)
  • Monitor sales performance and operational metrics to improve efficiency
  • Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and customer service standards
  • Ensure compliance with SNAP, WIC, Double Up Food Bucks, and related programs
  • Support continuous improvement, new product pilots, and operational enhancement

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3–5+ years of experience in food retail, grocery, mobile markets, co-ops, or similar environments
  • Experience managing retail operations, inventory, and customer service
  • Experience supervising and scheduling staff
  • Proficiency with POS systems and basic sales reporting
  • Knowledge of food safety and handling practices
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Commitment to respectful, inclusive customer service

Preferred

  • Grocery or small-format store management experience
  • Experience with food purchasing and vendor coordination
  • Familiarity with SNAP/EBT, WIC, or nutrition incentive programs
  • Experience using sales or inventory data to inform decisions
  • Multilingual skills relevant to the communities served

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $63,000–$76,000 annually, commensurate with experience
