Looking for a paid summer job to boost your resume, gain new skills, and have an amazing experience? Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp is hiring staff for Summer 2025! The Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp is an all-inclusive, fully accessible summer camp for children and young adults with a wide range of abilities and experiences, and we are hiring counselors (to work our two-week overnight camp) and program staff members (to work all summer)!
Sunshine Camp has been around for over 100 years, and we are proud to provide a summer camp experience where we strive for accessibility and inclusion for all. Our 157-acre campus located in Rush, NY is home to six cabins, a pool, a mini golf course, a pond for fishing and boating, climbing wall and zipline, and much more - all fully accessible. Sunshine Camp is a place where campers and staff alike come to have fun, build meaningful relationships, learn about others, get some Vitamin D, and celebrate the human experience that we all share!
Mandatory Staff Orientation Part 1: June 14th - 15th
Mandatory Staff Orientation Part 2: July 5th - July 6th (right before camp)
Sunshine Camp Week 1: July 6th - July 11th
Sunshine Camp Week 2: July 13th - July 18th
Sunshine Camp involves two consecutive 1-week sessions. Most counselors work both sessions, but this is not required. We are an overnight camp, so counselors will reside on campus and sleep in a staff building for the duration of the each session. In addition to the two weeks of camp, we hold a mandatory pre-camp orientation weekend for all staff at camp. Orientation gives our new staff a chance to meet everyone, get acquainted with campus, and receive important training. Counselors are paid $500 for each session worked, as well as $125 for attending orientation. In addition to counselors, we are also hiring program staff for summer 2025. Program staff work at camp all summer. So if you are looking for longer-term summer work, you can be considered for a position with program staff as well.
