GXC Inc. is seeking Unarmed Protective Security Officers to maintain an environment that is safe and comfortable for our clients guests and employees. The Protective Security Officer is the first line of security. Serving as security specialists, they will control access, respond to emergencies, perform general security duties, and document unusual incidents. GXC will be training all who join our team in the Department of Homeland Securitys National Weapons Detection Training Program via a certified instructor.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
- Enforces the rules of conduct for all patrons and visitors.
- Periodically tours the building and grounds, examining doors and windows to determine whether they are secure and not tampered with.
- Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning and calls for assistance, according to the circumstances.
- Ensures that guests, staff, and other outside contractors adhere to the rules of security to prevent theft, fire, damage, and personal injury
- Provides security presence at special events
- Writes comprehensive reports of incidents to assist with investigations and documentation of incidents.
- Reports any unusual conditions or malfunctions in heating, plumbing, electrical or other parts of the building's mechanical systems to facilities services.
- Utilizes TrackTik as part of the security strategy.
- Required to work at any assigned post and other facilities as needed
- Performs related duties as required
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
Required:
- ActiveUnarmed Security Guard License for the State of New York
- 3years' experienceinteracting with people in a security/military/law enforcement environment
- High School Diploma or GED
- Background check
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to deal tactfully and effectively with staff and public
Initial Training Requirements:
- 8 Hour Pre Assignment Training
- 16 Hour On-The- Job Training (OJT)
Annual Requirements:
- 8 Hour Annual In-Service Training
Preferred:
- Veterans/ Active and Retired Law Enforcement
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
- Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods and conduct foot patrols
- Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Occasional stooping, crouching, bending, crawling, and reaching.
- Some fine motor skills
Schedule
Part Time: Weekday, Weekend, and Evening availability
Currently hiring for 1-3 days per week, 4-6 hr. shifts ONLY
Salary:
$25.08per hour
Suffolk County determines that an additional wage of $2.46 on top of base salary of $22.62, for an hourly total of $25.08. The $2.46 is to use for your health benefits, in the absence of health benefits GXC has paid the amount in cash. If you elect health benefits as an eligible full-time employee, your pay will be adjusted to the base amount of $22.62, and the $2.46 will go toward the cost of your healthcare insurance.
