Job Description

Veterans Engineering is seeking a skilled and compassionate Gastroenterology Physician to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this role, you will provide specialized care for patients with gastrointestinal disorders, from diagnosis through treatment and ongoing management. You will utilize your expertise in gastroenterology to conduct thorough assessments, perform diagnostic procedures, and develop comprehensive treatment plans. Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with gastrointestinal disorders
  • Perform endoscopic procedures, including EGD and colonoscopy (if applicable per facility capabilities)
  • Review and interpret diagnostic studies related to GI health
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care
  • Document all encounters in the VA’s EMR system (Cerner)
  • Participate in staff meetings, peer reviews, and quality improvement initiatives as requested

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Completed ACGME-accredited residency and fellowship in Gastroenterology
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
  • Current medical license to practice in the state
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent clinical experience in Gastroenterology
  • Strong clinical skills and experience in gastrointestinal procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and families
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population
  • Knowledge of current clinical guidelines, best practices, and advancements in gastroenterology

Travel Requirements

Travel to client locations is required for this position and may vary based on project needs.
