Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented MEP Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing project specifications and creating accurate estimates for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in various construction projects, including industrial, warehouse, and cold storage facilities. This role is crucial for ensuring that our projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project drawings and specifications to prepare detailed estimates for MEP systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
- Analyze labor, material, and overhead costs to develop comprehensive project budgets.
- Prepare and submit bids for MEP projects in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update a database of cost information and vendor pricing for future reference.
- Participate in project meetings to discuss estimates and provide insights on cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and regulations during the estimation process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on MEP systems.
- Strong knowledge of industrial, warehouse, and cold storage construction practices.
- Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and clients.
