Job Title: Inspection Technician
Job Description
Join our team as an Gas Meter Inspector, where your primary focus will be ensuring the safety and compliance of utility-owned gas meters through facility inspections. This role requires professionalism and reliability, as you will be entering customer homes and conducting inspections in various weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Perform periodic facility inspections and surveys on utility-owned gas meters.
- Complete all necessary documentation and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Support the successful completion of regulatory audits and inspections.
- Conduct integrity surveys, including direct assessments and close interval surveys.
- Perform audit reviews with operations and provide support during audits.
Essential Skills
- Valid driver's license
- Excellent communication skills for clear and effective interaction with customers.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience in fields like cable technology, HVAC, piping, or automotive mechanics.
- Ability to walk, climb stairs, and ladders during an 8-hour workday in all weather conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Organizational, interpersonal, and initiative skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Intermediate knowledge of mathematics and algebra.
- Experience interfacing with technical services, government agencies, and emergency responders.
- At least one year of driving experience
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Island City, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
