Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a current NY license and broad OR case experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Work in an Operating Room setting within a hospital environment
- Patient population includes general, bariatric, vascular, neuro, ortho, plastics, robotics, and other surgical cases
- Day shift schedule (5x8 hours), 6:45 to 15:15
- Requires coverage of all OR specialties and procedures, not limited to one specialty area
- On-call requirement is 4 shifts of 24 hours each per 13 weeks
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Must be able to work with all diagnoses and across all operating room specialties
- No block scheduling permitted
- Maximum 5 days of time off allowed
- Online training modules required prior to start
- Scrubs are provided for this position
\n \n Requirements\n
- Active NY RN license must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum of 3 years recent OR RN experience required
- Experience in ambulatory and general operating room settings required
- Proficiency in bariatrics, vascular, ENT, endoscopic, neuro, ortho, robotics, urology, emergency management, blood administration, infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling, and universal protocol procedures required
- Current BLS certification required
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- First-time travelers must have at least 3 years of OR experience
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
- Candidates who were employed by Guthrie Healthcare System must be separated for at least one year prior to assignment
