Job Title: Refrigeration Mechanic
Job Type: Full Time/Direct Hire
Location: Batavia, NY area
Shift: 2nd shift
Pay: $24-$28/hr

The Job Duties:
- Manage refrigeration equipment and facility machines and parts
- Responsible for the dismantling, moving, changing or erecting machinery and equipment.
- Perform proper installation, maintenance and adjustments of all associate equipment in the refrigeration cycle. Recognize potential problems, worn parts and perform necessary repairs
- Troubleshoot Anhydrous Ammonia refrigeration system problems
- Schedule work, prepare requisitions for repair supplies and maintain maintenance and repair records
- Install and align pump/motor shaft coupling
- Assembly, disassembly and overhaul of hydraulic pumps, relief valves, regulating valves, solenoids, filters, lines, actuating cylinders and motors
- Fitting and adjustment of chain and sprockets for drive units
- Assist with boiler operation and boiler room duties that includes testing water samples, maintaining chlorine and water softener system
Requirements:
- Prior experience in the operation and repair of two stage anhydrous ammonia refrigeration system
- High school diploma required; Associates Degree (Applied Science) Preferred
- Ammonia 1 and 2 training and accreditation to be a Refrigeration Operator – or willingness to obtain
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Forklift experience preferred
- Knowledge of oxygen acetylene equipment
- Knowledge of chemical manuals
- Ability to work in tight small spaces in a Hazmat uniform
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and/or schematics
- Ability to connect and adjust electric arc welder preferred
