[Your School Name Here] Security Training Academy is a new, ambitious school seeking approval from the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS). We are looking for an experienced and motivated DCJS-Certified Security Guard Instructor to join our team as a key partner in our launch.

This role is perfect for a knowledgeable professional who is passionate about shaping the next generation of security officers and enjoys flexible, project-based work.

Key Responsibilities:

· Deliver high-quality, engaging, and compliant instruction for NYS DCJS-mandated courses, including the 8-Hour Pre-Assignment, 16-Hour On-The-Job Training (OJT), and Annual In-Service courses.
· Utilize approved DCJS curricula and lesson plans to ensure all state requirements are met.
· Manage the classroom environment, whether in-person or via live virtual instruction, fostering a professional and effective learning experience.
· Administer and grade examinations, and maintain accurate student attendance and performance records in accordance with DCJS regulations.
· Serve as the certified instructor of record for our DCJS school application and ongoing compliance.

Qualifications & Requirements:

· MUST be currently certified by NYS DCJS as a Security Guard Instructor. (Non-negotiable)
· Proven experience teaching DCJS security guard curriculum.
· In-depth knowledge of NYS security guard laws, use of force, ethics, report writing, and emergency procedures.
· Excellent public speaking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to teach online
· High level of professionalism, reliability, and integrity.
· Experience with virtual/live online instruction is a major plus.
