Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • BASIC FUNCTION


A. Responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary pool and deck area

B. Enforce pool rules and ensure that all safety equipment is present at and around the pool area at all times

  • RELATIONSHIPS


A. Reports to Community Manager of assigned property.

B. Works closely with maintenance and leasing staff to ensure excellence in presentation of property to current and prospective residents.

C. Able to quickly develop rapport with staff, residents and guests.


  • RESPONSIBILITIES


A. Pool Area Supervision & Maintenance


  • Fully understand and enforce all pool rules as displayed on Pool Rules signage.
  • Ensure identification is verified and complete attendance logs.
  • Visibly inspect pool areas at the beginning and of each shift. Report any obvious maintenance or safety concerns to the Community Manager or Maintenance Technician.
  • Inspect rescue equipment required by state and local regulations to ensure it is in good working condition and in the designated location.
  • Notify Community Manager or Maintenance Technician immediately if any self-closing gates, doors, locks or deadbolts are not working properly.
  • Test and balance pool chemicals as needed. Update pool chemical logs as required by state and local regulations. Contact Community Manager or Maintenance Technician if the log is not available.
  • Straighten pool furniture as needed and at the end of each shift ensuring furniture is clean and in working order at all times.
  • Verify pool phone has a dial tone and is in good working order at the beginning of every shift.
  • Clean and maintain pool bathroom daily, including keeping it stocked with toilet paper and paper towel, soap, etc.
  • Dump trash from pool side receptacles throughout shift as needed.
  • Secure surrounding areas and equipment when closing the pool ensuring proper storage of pool equipment. Any items left behind by resident should be secured and given to Community Manager for handling.
  • Open and close patio umbrellas at the opening and closing of the pool each day.
  • Use discretion and judgement to close the pool when a storm occurs after hours. Contact Community Manager if questions or concerns arise.
  • Close the pool immediately in the event of fecal, vomit or blood contamination. Contact the Community Manager or Maintenance Technician immediately. Test chlorine levels and allow the appropriate disinfection time period to lapse. This time period varies by chlorine level and must be managed by maintenance. Protocol decided on by Regional Property Manager and Property Executive.


Requirements:

Education and Experience:


High School Diploma or equivalent required. Current CPR and First Aid certification within one year required. Previous customer service, pool attendant or lifeguard experience/certification a plus.

  • Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Employee is required to use Reaching Pole and Buoy Ring on a throwing rope.
  • Must be able to occasionally move/lift 10-20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and occasionally to moving mechanical parts, fumes and toxic or caustic chemicals.
