Job Description

Histotechnician – Full-Time | Early Day Shift | Specialized Pathology Lab

Join a high-performing, nationally recognized pathology lab as a Histotechnician, where your work directly supports accurate diagnoses in specialties like oncology, urology, and gastroenterology. This is a full-time, onsite role with early morning shifts (5:00 AM–1:30 PM or 6:00 AM–2:30 PM) — ideal for professionals who prefer to have their afternoons free.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine and complex histology procedures: grossing, embedding, cutting, staining, and frozen sections
Prepare and test tissue specimens; report and document results
Follow all quality control and safety protocols
Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment and supplies
Participate in CAP and NYSDOH proficiency testing and continuing education

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or equivalent
New York State license required (Clinical Lab Technologist, Technician, Histotechnician, or equivalent)
2–5 years of experience preferred
ASCP certification a plus
