ESL Instructor (Part-Time) – Job Description

Institution: DreamIT ESL, Inc.

Location: New York, NY (Midtown Manhattan)

Schedule: On-site; flexible part-time schedule

Compensation: $21–$26 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Start Date: Rolling, with priority for Summer and Fall 2025 terms

Position Summary

DreamIT ESL is seeking qualified, passionate instructors to join our diverse and learner-centered English language programs. Instructors will teach adult English language learners in an academic setting, support students in achieving defined learning outcomes, and contribute to the school’s instructional quality and mission.

Minimum Qualifications (must meet one of the following)

1. A Bachelor’s degree in TESOL, TEFL, ESL, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related field, OR
2. A Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Communication, or other relevant field AND at least one year of ESL/EFL teaching experience to adult learners in a structured classroom setting, OR
3. A TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certification from a recognized provider AND at least two years of ESL/EFL teaching experience to adult learners. 4. Master’s degree in TESOL preferred; equivalent experience may be considered

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with international student populations
- Familiarity with CEFR-aligned curricula and student learning outcomes
- Experience teaching exam preparation courses (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, Business English)
- Ability to incorporate digital tools into the classroom (Google Workspace, LMS, etc.)

Responsibilities

- Deliver student-centered, level-appropriate ESL instruction using provided and adapted materials
- Monitor student progress and complete required assessments
- Participate in teacher training, curriculum development meetings, and classroom observations
- Maintain clear records of attendance, student performance, and feedback
