Role and Responsibilities
Must be able to work with great concentration and precision. Must be responsible and comply with all safety guidelines. A keen eye for detail. The goal is to produce high quality furniture parts and materials by milling, gluing, cutting lumber.
Main duties as a Machine Operator, but not limited to:
· Monitoring and maintaining warehouse equipment and machinery
· Inspect pulleys, drive belts, guards, or fences on machines to ensure that the machines will operate safely
· Examine raw Woodstock for defects and to ensure conformity to size and other specification standards
· Skill in operating machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
· A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
· Clean and maintain products, machines, of mill area
· Feed Stock through feed mechanisms or conveyors into planning, shaping, boring, mortising, or sanding machines to product desired components
· Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Apprenticeship or equivalent experience in related disciplines
Preferred Skills
As a Machine Operator, you will need:
· The ability to meet targets and deadlines
· Lift up to 50lbs
· Stand for extended periods of time
· Good time management skills
· An approachable manner and good communication skills
· Excellent problem-solving skills
· A willingness to work flexibility
An awareness of health and safety issues
Ability to help in other parts of the shop where needed if necessary
