Nursing Home Administrator - Full Time - Days

The Nursing Home Administrator (Seneca View) is responsible for the professional and efficient operation of the Skilled Nursing Facility and its departments. The Administrator works closely with all of her/his department heads in formulating departmental policies, solving problems, and interpreting new regulations and procedures. Additionally, the Administrator works closely with the medical staff, nursing personnel and other department heads to bring about quality resident care. The administrator is solely responsible for the financial management of the skilled nursing facility and all operational aspects having to do with the facilities performance. Active and visible member of the Schuyler Hospital Leadership Team and actively involved in community representation for Cayuga Health System/ Schuyler Hospital/ Seneca View.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for successful operation of Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility in accordance of Schuyler Hospital and Cayuga Health System values. Manage the day-to-day operations of the facility and keep the organization on track for its long-term goals and mission. Providing maximum coordination of all areas to bring about quality resident care.

  • Coordinates and provides effective leadership through direct supervision, mentorship and leadership of directors and managers in skilled nursing; including development, orientation, discipline, and performance evaluation processes in a timely manner.
  • The Administrator must be familiar with the functions, regulations, policies and procedures of all departments of the Skilled Nursing Facility, and any other departments overseen by the Administrator. Designs, implements, and monitors a provider annual evaluation process in collaboration with Physician Practice Leader.
  • Ensure the facility operates in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, by absorbing, interpreting, and putting into action required regulatory changes in a positive, effective, and efficient manner. Prepares periodic and special reports as required, including but not limited to those pertaining to the New York State Department of Health and/or JCAHO.
  • Responsible for budget preparation and adherence to meeting financial targets.
  • Responsible for leadership of resident satisfaction initiatives and performance monitoring [resident council, Family forum, interdisciplinary meeting both internally and across they Cayuga Health System]
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure residents' individual care plans are being followed according to NYSDOH regulations.
  • Undertakes all other responsibilities as may be delegated by the System COO and AVP of Schuyler Hospital.
  • Participates in planning for the introduction of new resident care programs and for the expansion of services that affect all departments working collaborative with Schuyler Hospital and Cayuga Health System.
  • Create and strengthen relationships across Cayuga Health System for process improvement around admissions to maintain full census.
  • Effectively provides Person Centered care and services
  • Reports to the System COO and AVP Schuyler Hospital Operations


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Services, Business Administration or a related field
  • Current NYS Nursing Home Administrator License
  • Minimum of (5) years' experience in health care setting
  • Agency reduction experience
  • Strong acumen in financial and operational efficiencies
  • Strong written and verbal skills


Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or Health Services (or related field)
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

Pay Range Disclosure:

  • $110.334.00 to $169,651.00 per year
