Job Description
AHRC NYC is currently seeking a Residential Manager (RM) for their Hawthorne Respite residence in Brooklyn. The RM must be experienced working with indidivuals with MENTAL HEALTH issues and will provide care for the emotional, physical and personal well-being of the individuals by ensuring a nurturing, structured and protective environment. The RAM will engage with the people supported in the residence and with related stakeholders to work towards mitigating crisis-related factors and sustaining a safe and stable life experience within the community.
ANNUAL SALARY: $70,000 per year. In addition, this position comes with a very generous low cost benefit package. See additional Benefit information below.
Position Description:
- Assumes overall responsibilities for the smooth operation of the residence.
- Ensures ongoing compliance and quality assurance with State and Federal regulations pertinent to the operation of the residence to which he/she is assigned.
- Provides direct supervision of direct support staff assigned to the residence under his/her jurisdiction.
- Collaborates with the management team to create a program of services for each resident, and assigns the tasks of each member of the direct support team.
- Participates in comprehensive service planning activities with outside agencies for each resident under his/her jurisdiction.
Qualifications
- Must be experienced with individuals with intellectual and developmental (IDD) disabilities
- Must be experienced working with individuals with Mental Health issues.
- Must include experience implementing behavior support plans and having an understanding of positive behavior supports approaches (including positive reinforcement, preventive, and de-escalation strategies).
- Must have ability to assist in planning, organizing, developing, and implementing program policies and procedures in timely and consistent manner.
- Ability to deal diplomatically with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public.
- A valid New York state Tri-State driver's license for more than one year in good standing with minimal violations is required.
