A healthcare professional with expertise in radiographic imaging is sought for a contract opportunity in Rochester, NY. This role involves performing X-ray procedures, ensuring patient safety, and producing diagnostic-quality images for radiologist interpretation. The position requires someone skilled in patient interaction, equipment handling, and image management within a fast-paced medical setting.
Responsibilities:
- Verify patient identity and review physician orders prior to imaging.
- Operate X-ray equipment to capture images of bones, tissues, and organs as ordered.
- Explain procedures to patients and address their questions with clarity and empathy.
- Position and assist patients, including those with limited mobility, to ensure accurate imaging.
- Safely manage radiologic equipment, maintaining low radiation doses.
- Monitor patient status and adjust techniques to meet age-specific needs.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure proper image labeling and transmission to imaging systems.
- Promptly report any malfunctioning equipment to management.
- Utilize electronic patient information systems effectively, following dual patient identification protocols.
- Be prepared to report on-call within 30 minutes if needed.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Completion of formal training from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
- Current certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Active or eligible New York State license.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as an X-ray Technologist, including Level 1 trauma center exposure.
- Recent experience with c-arm or o-arm imaging within the past 8 months.
- BLS certification.
- Physical ability to lift/move patients and stand for extended periods.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach and effective team collaboration.
