Role Summary
As a Finishing Technician, you’ll set up, operate, and maintain finishing equipment to convert printed rolls into customer-ready product—slitting, rewinding, inspecting, and packaging labels to exact specifications. You’ll be a key link between press and shipping, ensuring every order leaves on time and meets our quality standards.
What You’ll Do

Responsible for final inspections of all final inspection of finishing products with printed labels lamination, film overlam, varnish/UV coating, matrix stripping, waste removal, folding/binding, for commercial print customers, mounting, taping, grommets, application of adhesives, final inspection, count verification, packing/shrink-wrap, labeling and palletizing to send over to shipping.

Operate laminators, and shrink-wrap/pack-out stations per job ticket.

Perform 100% visual/automated inspection for defects (die-strike, registration, color, copy, scuffs, missing labels) and verify barcodes/QRs when required.

Build rolls to exact core size, unwind/rewind direction, label count, OD/roll diameter, and splice limits; apply liners/laminate when specified.

Documentation: Read and follow travelers/work orders; complete production logs, waste reports, and quality checks in ERP/MES.

Material Handling: Load/unload rolls, stage jobs, label cores/boxes, and palletize finished goods; use pallet jack/forklift (training provided).

Maintenance & 5S: Perform basic cleanings, blade changes, die swaps, and routine checks; sustain a clean, safe, and organized work cell.

Collaboration: Communicate with Press Operators, Planning, Shipping, and QA to resolve issues quickly and keep orders on schedule.

Safety & Compliance: Follow PPE, lockout/tagout, and chemical handling SOPs; support GMP/quality requirements for regulated customers.
Requirements
What You’ll Bring

Experience: 1+ year in printing, packaging, finishing, label converting, or manufacturing (finishing/converting experience a plus).

Technical Skills: Comfortable setting up production equipment; can read a ruler/tape to 1/32", use basic gauges (calipers, counters), and interpret job specs.

Quality Mindset: High attention to detail and consistency in repetitive tasks; familiarity with visual inspection standards.

Systems: Basic PC skills; prior ERP/barcode scanning experience helpful.

Physical: Able to stand for long periods; lift/push/pull up to ~50 lbs; frequent bending and reaching.

Work Style: Reliable, coachable, safety-first, and team-oriented with a sense of urgency.
Nice to Have (Bonus)

Experience with turret rewinders, rotary die-cutting, matrix removal, or automated inspection systems.

Background in labels/flexo or digital print finishing.

Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
