Minimum Requirements:

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required

Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a social service, mental health, or similar setting

Must complete NYC DOH/MH attestation confirming no founded child abuse reports

Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and family-based interventions
-
Ability to lead, motivate, and coach diverse teams
-
Familiarity with electronic recordkeeping systems and commitment to data integrity

Must meet NYC child welfare clearance requirements
Position Overview:
The Client Care Supervisor is responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, client-centered services in compliance with programmatic goals and funder requirements. This role provides clinical supervision, supports staff development, and ensures documentation and care coordination standards are met. The ideal candidate is a licensed professional with strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a passion for supporting vulnerable populations through trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Staff Development

Provide ongoing supervision and coaching to direct reporting staff, fostering professional growth and accountability

Conduct and document one-on-one supervision to assess performance, identify training needs, and support development

Deliver quarterly training sessions to enhance shelter staff’s skills in psychoeducation, mental health assessments, and motivational interviewing
-
Address staff performance issues through constructive feedback and disciplinary measures when necessary

Encourage collaboration and teamwork within the team and across departments
Clinical Oversight

Monitor clients’ progress towards goals and document through timely, clear, and accurate progress notes
-
Ensure completion and accuracy of all clinical documentation, including service plans, ILPs, referrals, re-certifications, and psychiatric assessments

Conduct regular audits of client charts (paper and electronic) to ensure compliance and data integrity

Provide direct support in crisis intervention and critical incident follow-up

May conduct client intakes, assessments, and reassessments as needed
Program Coordination & Administration

Organize and lead program activities to meet contract goals and performance metrics
-
Collaborate with staff and peers to plan, implement, and evaluate program content addressing client needs (e.g., housing, employment, mental health, substance use)

Serve as a liaison and develop partnerships with external providers, including mental health and community-based organizations
-
Ensure proper use of electronic case management systems and uphold data quality standards
-
Prepare performance appraisals, review timesheets, and approve staff schedules
-
Provide timely data and updates for all required reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual)

May contribute to program outreach, marketing, and client recruitment efforts
Client Engagement
-
Support staff in engaging clients through trauma-informed and culturally competent practices
-
May plan and facilitate support groups, social events, and peer engagement activities
-
Identify and address barriers to care, working with staff to find creative solutions
-
Assist in overcoming resistance to change among clients and staff
