Key Responsibilities:

• Independently rebuild electric motors, replace fan bearings, and rebuild both packed and mechanically sealed pumps.
• Perform high and low voltage troubleshooting and wiring.
• Perform controller and VFD installations.
• Execute electrical and mechanical troubleshooting tasks safely and efficiently.
• Safely utilize power tools and machine shop equipment for tasks such as drilling out broken bolts, machining shaft sleeves, and simple fabrication tasks.
• Safely rig equipment and materials utilize chain blocks and come alongs for various tasks.
• Adapt to changing conditions and develop creative solutions when plans do not proceed as expected.
• Maintain current knowledge of fire pump systems and related code.
• Teach and mentor others when applicable while being open to learning new skills.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of pump and motor repair experience (recommended).
• Soldering/brazing experience up to 4" (preferred).
• Previous knowledge of fire pump systems (preferred).
• OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Clean driver’s license.
• Ability to climb, squat, crawl, and lift up to 75 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift
• Extended hours
• On call

Work Location: On the road.
