Job Description

The role will report to the Head of Privacy and will work in an ongoing and collaborative way with -’s online advertising business in carrying out her or his responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this role must have deep substantive knowledge of adtech transactions and privacy legal issues. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Counsel and support the - Ads business unit on privacy issues in connection with the development of products, platforms, applications, games, and other initiatives involving the collection and use of consumer data; ,

• Work closely with Ads Product & Engineering and Commercial Legal teams to establish relationships and deliver consistent, practical privacy guidance and support regarding commercial agreements, Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Data Processing Addenda (DPAs), Due Diligence for third party data;

• Draft and negotiate data privacy provisions in a variety of agreements ranging from contracts with suppliers to those involving SmartTV and mobile technologies and other data-driven initiatives;

• Track and advise on legal, regulatory, and policy developments relating to data collection and use, online privacy, healthcare, tracking and analytics, advanced advertising, and related issues.


Minimum Qualifications:

• Law Degree and member of the US state bar in good standing

• 4+ years total legal work experience, with at least three years at a large law firm or in-house advising on data privacy matters

• Comprehensive understanding of U.S. data privacy laws (e.g., CPRA, COPPA, TCPA)

• Strong transactional background, drafting and negotiating commercial transactions and counseling clients with respect to privacy and information security issues

• Solid knowledge of online advertising and data solutions (e.g., use of cookies and cookie alternatives, programmatic advertising, data management platforms, data suppliers)

• Demonstrated analytical experience, including experience assessing risk from a privacy and data protection perspective

• Ability to multitask and to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to formulate creative solutions to accomplish business objectives.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Privacy certifications such as CIPP-US

  • • Experience with Children’s Data Privacy, or Health data


The hourly range for roles of this nature are $60.00 to $65.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
