Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Truck Mechanic to join our busy established repair shop. As an Truck Mechanic, you will assist our commerical customers by diagnosing and repairing truck and trailer issues, performance, and function.
As an Truck Mechanic, you must have an in-depth understanding of all vehicle systems and components. You will also be responsible for maintaining repair shop equipment, preparing repair worksheets, and promote a team environment.
The ideal candidate is able to explain vehicle issues clearly and concisely and complete timely workorders.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair trucks and trailers dispatched to our repair facility
- Carry out routine vehicle maintenance tasks, diagnostic and troubleshooting, engine and mechanical knowledge
- Conduct in-depth vehicle inspections of all systems, including engine, transmission, and brakes
- Maintain accurate repair shop records and paperwork
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a truck mechanic required
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Comply with company policies and procedures
- NYS Inspection License (preferred or needed within 3 months of employment)
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Clean background and driving history
- Drug tests required
