Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HVAC Sheet Metal Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical drawings and specifications, and be highly skilled in ductwork takeoffs. Experience using estimation software such as FastEST, QuoteSoft, or similar platforms is a significant plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret HVAC plans, specifications, and drawings.

  • Perform accurate takeoffs of sheet metal ductwork and related components.

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, material, and equipment pricing.

  • Work with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify scope and project needs.

  • Create and maintain organized bid packages and proposal documentation.

  • Review addendums and ensure all updates are reflected in the estimate.

  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.

  • Provide value engineering suggestions and cost-saving alternatives.

  • Track bid results and provide feedback for future improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC sheet metal estimating.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical/HVAC systems and ductwork.

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and specifications.

  • Experience with estimating software such as FastEST, QuoteSoft, or equivalent.

  • Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and time-management abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other common office software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior field experience in HVAC or sheet metal installation.

  • Familiarity with local building codes and industry standards.

  • Experience with BIM/AutoCAD is a plus.
