Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance on U.S. federal income tax, state and local tax, and international tax planning.

  • Assist with domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, fund formations, and real estate transactions.

  • Draft legal documents and filings related to tax law.

  • Participate in tax controversy matters, including audits, appeals, and litigation.

  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and supporting materials.

  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff to deliver client solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Active admission to the New York State Bar.

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience at a law firm, accounting firm, or in a government tax role.

  • Strong academic background and exceptional legal writing and research skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

  • LL.M. in Taxation is a plus, but not required.

  • Familiarity with tax issues in corporate and real estate transactions is preferred.

  • Experience or interest in tax controversy and cross-border tax planning is advantageous.
