Woodston Personnel are seeking an experienced and motivated Cardiac Critical Care Consultant to join our client’s hospital in Saudi Arabia. The consultant is responsible for providing expert clinical care to patients with life-threatening cardiovascular conditions in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). This role involves managing complex cardiac cases, including acute coronary syndromes, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, post-cardiac surgery patients, and mechanical circulatory support cases. The consultant will work collaboratively with cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, and multidisciplinary critical care teams to ensure high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centered care.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to critically ill cardiac patients in the CICU.
  • Lead the management of acute cardiovascular emergencies including STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, malignant arrhythmias, acute heart failure, and cardiac arrest.
  • Manage patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and mechanical circulatory support (e.g., IABP, Impella, ECMO).
  • Oversee ventilatory management and organ support in collaboration with intensivists.
  • Conduct daily multidisciplinary rounds and develop individualized care plans.
  • Participate in rapid response and cardiac arrest teams as required.
  • Provide pre- and post-procedural care for interventional and surgical cardiac patients.
  • Lead and supervise junior doctors, fellows, residents, and advanced practice providers.
  • Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons, interventional cardiologists, anesthesiologists, and critical care specialists.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality improvement, and continuous learning.
  • Contribute to the development of CICU protocols and clinical pathways.
  • Ensure adherence to evidence-based guidelines and institutional policies.
  • Participate in morbidity and mortality reviews, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
  • Support risk management and infection control standards.
  • Participate in teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and nursing staff.

Requirements

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification

US Board/ FRCS - Irish, UK, Canadian, New Zealand or Australian/ Diploma d'Etudes Specialises (DES)/ CIS French Board/ Fachart & Sub- Board/ Fellowship / Board / Fellowship / Sweden / Belgium / Finland / Spain

Must have at least 3-5 years of post-consultant or senior specialist experience

Eligible for consultant licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)

Contribute to continuing medical education activities.

Engage in clinical research and publish findings where appropriate.

Support participation in national and international registries
