Amazing Downtown Summer Camp is looking for activity specialists who are ready to lead and inspire. As an Activity Instructor, you aren't just teaching a skill, you are facilitating growth and building community. This role is a perfect fit for those looking to build a resume in groupmanagement, public speaking, curriculum implementation, and team leadership. You will learn how to command a room, pivot on the fly, and mentor youth in a high-energy environment.


Activity Instructors are the subject matter experts of our camp. You bring the energy and expertise to our daily programming, ensuring every child is engaged, learning, and safe. You will work as part of a collaborative team to facilitate high-quality activities, build lasting relationships with campers, and ensure that our wide array of offerings are both fun and inclusive.


Activity Areas: Sports, Group Games, Music, Dance, Arts & Crafts, Science


Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a Mentor: Act as a positive role model for campers and the counselor team.
  • Facilitate Excellence: Lead and execute engaging, high-energy activities for groups of children throughout the summer with the camp provided curriculum.
  • Lead the Team: Work alongside counselors, effectively utilizing their support to manage group dynamics during activities.
  • Event Production: Assist with the planning and implementation of camp-wide special events and spirit days.
  • Support the Mission: Get in the pool to assist with instructional swim as requested.
  • Bring the Energy: Maintain a high-fun, high-impact atmosphere every day.



Qualifications:

  • Age: 18+ years of age.
  • Commitment: Must be available for the full season (June 29 August 21) and required staff orientation June 20, 21, 28 (plus one virtual half-day TBD).
  • Reliability: Consistent MondayFriday schedule (8:00 AM 5:00 PM). Punctuality is essential for program success.
  • Experience: Previous experience in teaching, coaching, or facilitating youth activities is preferred.


Compensation & Contract Details:

We value transparency regarding our seasonal employment structure. Camp staff are hired on a contractual basis for the eight-week summer season. As a seasonal contractual role, compensation is structured as a fixed sum rather than an hourly wage. his total is distributed via four bi-weekly payments.

  • Contract Total: Compensation starts at $3,600 for the full summer.
