Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Assistant to join our Compliance team. This role is essential in managing all incoming medical records requests, ensuring proper documentation, and coordinating with external agencies and staff to maintain compliance with HIPAA and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review incoming medical records requests for accuracy and completeness

• Maintain logs of requests, submissions, and responses

• Gather required documentation for medical record requests

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and state/federal regulations

• Support compliance department with administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred

• Previous experience in healthcare administration, records management, or compliance strongly preferred

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations a plus

• Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
