Pay range: $19.23 - $24.03/hr DOE

**This position is located in Syracuse, NY.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for various entry level tasks in support of compressor and sub-assembly production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on mechanical assembly using basic hand tools while following detailed work instructions and quality standards

  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately to support traceability and product integrity

  • Build technical skills through on-the-job training, cross-training, and exposure to specialized manufacturing processes

  • Assist with inventory tracking and material handling to ensure smooth production flow

  • Support precision, low-volume manufacturing operations by assembling and operating production equipment used in compressor and sub-assembly processes

  • Follow all Bluefors safety guidelines, procedures, and cleanliness requirements at all times

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S and manufacturing best practices

  • Collaborate with teammates, leads, and support functions to meet daily production goals and support continuous improvement

  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Job Competencies:

  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings/blueprints, operating, training and safety manuals, documents and forms.

  • Ability to use hand and measuring tools

  • Basic math knowledge (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and converting fractions and decimals)

  • Technical/mechanical abilities a plus

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with bandsaws and presses a plus.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, reach with arms and hands, and have hand and finger dexterity. The employee is occasionally required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing environment. This position interacts mostly with internal customers in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner. Mandatory PPE must be worn as required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; heat; cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
